It Started With One Simple Idea…
Our family has always loved hockey. Whether it's cheering at an NHL game or watching young players take their very first strides on the ice, hockey has always brought us together.
Then one day, our sister-in-law said something that changed everything:
"You should make hockey wax."
At first, it sounded like a fun idea. The more we researched the market, the more we realized there was an opportunity to create something different.
Not just another hockey wax—but one made with ingredients we'd feel good about putting into our own hands and our children's hands.
Built on Natural Ingredients
Shirley has spent years creating premium natural candles and her popular skin-safe lotion candles through her business, Shirley's Makery. That experience working with natural waxes became the foundation for Sniper Sauce.
After months of testing different formulations, we developed a premium hockey wax made primarily from natural beeswax—chosen for its naturally tacky feel and water-resistant properties.
Our goal was simple:
Create a hockey wax that performs at a high level while using natural ingredients we can stand behind.
We believe petroleum-based products have their place—but our hands, our kids' hands, and the ice that eventually becomes part of our water systems deserve thoughtful choices.

Before we ever sold a single tin, we put Sniper Sauce through months of real-world testing.
Players ranging from U9 beginners to AAA athletes and adult recreational players helped us compare our formula with some of the most recognized hockey waxes on the market.
Every adjustment brought us closer to the product we proudly make today.
